War: Support for flag defender

A grateful welcome home to our military and thanks to those waiting families that also serve (been there, done that). No thanks to the local protesters..

A grateful welcome home to our military and thanks to those waiting families that also serve (been there, done that). No thanks to the local protesters, especially the one who chose to “welcome” with her desecrated version of the American flag. Her antics with the flag on the ground and her “in your face” gesture with an altered, remodeled flag . . . well, does that behavior really serve any good purpose? This is an insult to our local military community of which there are many, and to our national symbol. It may be her “right,” but is it right?

My vote and heart go to the guy who tried to defend our flag and the nation for which it stands. This is a man who has not only served his country, but has given of his time and energies to every community in which he’s lived. We on Whidbey Island, the home of the brave, owe him and our like-minded citizens a well deserved “thank you” for defending our nation and our flag.
