The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association selected Coupeville senior Josh Bayne as their 1A Athlete of the Week.

Bayne was recognized for his all-around performance in the Wolves 55-38 win over Bellevue Christian Friday, Nov. 7.

Bayne rushed for 311 yards, caught two passes for 40 yards and scored six touchdowns. On defense, he recorded seven tackles, recovered a fumble and grabbed an interception.

In recognition of his accomplishment, Bayne receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week T-shirt and a certificate. Winners are also posted to the WIAA website at www.wiaa.com
