In cross country action at Lake Stevens Thursday, Oct. 1, the Oak Harbor High School boys placed third and the girls fourth in a five-team meet.
Snohomish dominated the boys race, taking all but second place in the top eight and scoring 19 points. Lakes Stevens followed with 68, Oak Harbor had 86, Monroe 110 and Meadowdale 112.
Oak Harbor scored 87 points in the girls race, trailing Monroe (41), Snohomish (45) and Lake Stevens (52) and topping Meadowdale (142).
Jake Hucko led the Oak Harbor boys by placing ninth (17:22.05), and Alexis Smith topped the Wildcat girls, taking sixth (20:49.61).
The Wildcats host their only home meet of the season at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, when three of Wesco’s top teams — Arlington, Glacier Peak and Edmonds-Woodway — visit Windjammer Park.
