Wildcats dominate on Monroe track

The Oak Harbor High School boys and girls track teams dominated the action at Thursday's three-way meet at Monroe against the host team and the team from Meadowdale.

The Oak Harbor High School boys and girls track teams dominated the action at Thursday’s three-way meet at Monroe against the host team and the team from Meadowdale.

On the boys side, Wildcat runners won the 100, 200 and 800-meter events, along with the 4×400 relay.

In field events, Oak Harbor was the winner in the long and triple jump events.

The girls won the 100, the 3,200 and the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

Wildcat field event wins came in the shot put, discus, javelin, long jump and triple jump.

Junior Shantae Young had a fantastic meet winning the 100, the long jump and the triple jump, and was also a member of the winning 4×100 relay team along with Maura McKole, Janessa Ramos and Christina Alexander.

Stephen Lewis won the boys 100 and teammate Donovan Hunt captured the 200 along with the long jump.

Lewis, Derrick Clarit, Rashaad Smith and Jason Curles won the 4×400 relay, and Smith was the triple jump winner.

Abby Leete won the 3,200 and teamed with Adrianna Royal, Hannah Bressler and Allison Duvenez to win the 4×400 relay.

Duvenez was the winner of the 300 hurdles, and teammates Amanda Alvarado and Dominique Jackson were winners in the shot put and discus events, respectively. Janelle Yoshimoto completed the field event winners, capturing the javelin throw.

Oak Harbor hosts Arlington and Lake Stevens at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
