Football coaches in the WesCo North Division voted 10 players from Oak Harbor’s championship team to the WesCo North offensive and defensive all-star teams.
Finishing the regular season with a 7-1 league record and an 8-1 overall mark, senior quarterback Marshall Lobbestael, junior tight end Jake Rouser, junior wide receiver Rodrick Rumble and senior offensive lineman Will Hunter were voted to the first-team offensive squad.
Lobbestael has passed for 2,084 yards and 28 touchdowns this season and Rouser is averaging over 18 yards per reception.
Rumble has caught 32 passes for 513 yards and has rushed for an additional 257 yards. He leads the Wildcats in scoring with 98 points.
First team defensive players include senior defensive back Brenden Kays, junior linebacker Joe Raymond and linemen Hunter and Rouser.
Despite being injured and missing three games during the season, Hunter is a mainstay on the line both offensively and defensively.
Raymond has 33 solo tackles, Kays has 24 and Rouser has 14 pass receptions for 201 yards.
The second team offensive unit includes junior running back Chris Valencia, who has gained 918 yards rushing and scored 15 touchdowns this season, senior lineman Edmundo Corrales and Kays at wide receiver.
Senior Matt Davidson, with 34 solo tackles, was voted a second-team defensive lineman along with Rouser, and Valencia was placed on the team at a linebacker position.
Named honorable mention players were seniors Jeff Lamont, Matt Johnston and Tony Thulin.
Lamont has caught 36 passes for 298 yards this season, Thulin has gained 302 yards rushing and has scored 76 points and Johnston has made 22 solo tackles.
Oak Harbor continues its quest for the state Class 4A football championship and plays Skyview in Snohomish tonight, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m.
