The wind is wreaking havoc on people planning to take the ferry from Keystone on Whidbey Island to Port Townsend today.
The 11:15 a.m. sailing from Port Townsend and the noon from Keystone are canceled due to high winds.
If you’re heading to Grandma’s house a day early for Thanksgiving, the alternate routes will be Edmonds/Kingston and Mukilteo/Clinton. Updates will occur when conditions change.
Earlier today, the 8:45 a.m. from Keystone and the 9:30 a.m. from Port Townsend were scratched due to the windy weather.
As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, AccuWeather.com reported 30 mile per hour winds from the southeast in nearby Oak Harbor.
The forecast calls for rain and breezy conditions this afternoon, Thanksgiving Day and Friday, with the sun possibly peeking trough the clouds Saturday before rain returns Saturday night.
