Ten girls will form this season’s Coupeville cheer squad.

Two, Jovanah Foote and Robin Cedillo, return from last basketball season, and they will be joined by Kaela Hollrigel, Julia Borges, Claire Mietus, Heather Nastali, McKenzie Meyer, Gaby Halpin, Natasha Estes and Julie Bucio.

“I’m proud of all the hard work these girls have put in so far this year,” coach Cheridan Eck said.

“My expectations (are) to keep the OHANA spirit alive and keep going on as a TEAM — Together Everyone Achieves More.”

Eck isn’t sure if her team will take part in competitions this year, although she is considering forming a stunt team.

“Stunt is a new competitive sport,” she said, “and I am looking into it.”

She added she hopes to incorporate some of football players who learned how to stunt earlier in the year.
