Although the Wolves lost, coach Mike Thornton said it was a partially success because Cedarcrest thumped Coupeville twice last year.
Thornton said, “It was a good game because I have players who think they can compete with other teams in our group.”
Cedarcrest scored its first goal off a deflection by a Coupeville defender. Thornton said the second goal “was mishandled by our keeper.”
Thornton added, “We limited their chances and created four or five of our own, but we just couldn’t get it in.”
