Three hits and eight errors for the Coupeville High School softball team reveal the obvious outcome, a 10-0 loss in six innings at Lakewood Monday, May 12.
Offensively, the Wolves only picked up hits from Hailey Hammer, Maddi Strasburg and Bree Messner and never pushed a runner past second base.
Defensively, Coupeville struggled as “Lakewood put pressure on us offensively the whole game,” co-coach David King said.
One of the few highlights was an unassisted double play by shortstop Madi Roberts, who snared a line drive and tagged a runner who strayed off second base.
Terah Barrio and Jennaka Larson homered for the Cougars (9-7, 11-7).
The Wolves (3-14, 4-14) complete the regular season with a trip to first-place Granite Falls (15-1, 16-2) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.
