“A 24-year-old Oak Harbor woman is facing a sex crime charge for allegedly sexually fondling a 15-year-old boy with whom she apparently was in a relationship.Tabitha Harding was charged with third-degree child molestation in Island County Superior Court Oct. 26. According to the charging information, she is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a juvenile who is at least 14 years old but less than 16.According to the certification from probable cause written by Oak Harbor Detective Jerry Baker, Harding admitted to sexually fondling the boy and allowing him to fondle her. She said their relationships started with e-mail messages which were meant to make her husband jealous, but things went too far from there, Baker’s report states.A special agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service initially reported the possible child abuse case Oct. 19. Baker interviewed the boy’s younger sister, who said that he spent a lot of time at Harding’s home. She said she was a lookout once when the two of them were in Harding’s bedroom. The girl also said that Harding told her she was in love with her brother.Harding has no criminal history. If convicted of the charge, she could face six months to a year in prison.”
