A 25-year-old woman jumped off the deception pass bridge at 12:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Department.
Claire Dutton, a Pullman native, had reportedly been living in Bellingham.
A passing car driver called police after observing the jump, which occurred on the west side of the bridge’s north end. The body was recovered on the Island County side around 1 p.m
The sheriff’s office said it was an apparent suicide with no foul play.
