Alfredo Moreno, age 58, of Oak Harbor, passed away at Mira Vista Care Center in Mt. Vernon on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Moreno was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Sept. 22, 1954, to Jose and Concepcion (Hernandez) Moreno. He moved with his family to Moses Lake at the age of eight. Alfredo attended Moses Lake Schools and graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1973, and attended Washington State University for several years. He married Rollena Robinson on Sept. 23, 1977 in Moses Lake. Alfredo entered the U.S. Navy in 1982, and came to Oak Harbor in December 1983. He was employed for eighteen years by Boeing as a quality control engineer.
Alfredo enjoyed yard work, landscaping and camping with Rollena. Together, they also enjoyed travelling to many countries around the world.
Alferdo is survived by his two children: Jesse S. Moreno (Paige) of Anacortes and Christine Griffin of Lynnwood; his grandson, Nick McVey of Texas; also, by eight sisters and brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by the love of his life,
Rollena, on April 16, 2012, as well as by two brothers and his parents.
