Arlene May (Bond) Peden, born on December 6, 1934, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 21, at McKinley’s N Whidbey Adult Family Home in Oak Harbor.
Arlene and her parents, Basil H. and Martha Bond, made their home in Detroit, Michigan where Arlene was born and raised. Arlene later moved to California and worked for Pacific Bell from 1973 through 1990 as an Environmental Manager.
On June 5, 1964, Arlene married Donald Peden in Burbank, California. Arlene and Don subsequently lived in many places in California, even achieving one of their many dreams together as they spent 10 years living aboard their boats.
Don and Arlene moved to Whidbey Island upon retirement and spent the next 23 years in and around Oak Harbor. Arlene served her community with Meals on Wheels, Citizens on Patrol, and in Sonshine Ministries with Family Bible Church.
Arlene is survived by her children: son Mitch (Cox) and his wife Nancy, daughter Debbie (Silva) and her husband Andy, son Rodger Peden and daughter Gina Peden, along with 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The memorial service is planned for April 27, 2013, at Family Bible Church in Oak Harbor.
