Barbara J. Sanders, age 76, passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, 2020, with her family by her side after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born Sept. 25, 1944, in Morton, Wash., to Lionel and Elaine Ramsdell. She has been a lifelong resident of Washington state.

Barbara loved to travel and made her way RVing to almost all 50 states with her love, Michael Griffen. She was a life member of the VFW Post 7392, and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Barbara was married for 18 years to Thomas R. Sanders Sr. before his death in 1980. Together they had four children who survive them, Danna Sheldon (Brent), Donna Smyth (Ricky), Thomas R. Sanders Jr. and Debbie Swain( Paul).

Barbara was in a loving union with Michael R. Griffen for the past 40 years and helped raise and support Michael G. Griffen, Tony Griffen and Danny Griffen, who also survive her.

She is survived by two brothers, one sister, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she adored and loved as family was everything to her.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of the Northwest or the MS Foundation.

Cremation was under the care of Hawthorne funeral Home.
