Betty Cope, born on Jan. 20, 1915, passed away peacefully at her home near Coupeville Feb. 2, 2005. She and her husband Ray found Whidbey Island on family visits, knew that this was where they wanted to spend the rest of their lives, and moved here in 1986.

Betty was a nurse, a dedicated Navy wife and mother, a world traveler, an avid cook and quilter and an enthusiastic beach comber. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth and Marjorie, and the love of her life, Ray. She is survived by her children, Ron, Ken, Joan, Bob, and their families and will be missed.
