Betty Wilcox passed away at University of Washington Medical Center on Sept. 4, 2015.
She was a Coupeville resident for 20 years. Betty was born on Dec. 16, 1928, in Texas. She worked for United Airlines for over 14 years and retired in 1983.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jack Wilcox; her son, Don McHenry and daughter-in-law, Sandy; as well as four step-children, 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
One step-daughter preceded her in death.
Betty loved to travel and she and Jack did so extensively. She was an accomplished artist and painted many masterpieces.
She loved her family, her island paradise and her church. Her faith and her church family were very important to her.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Coupeville Hope House.
