Carrie Elva Reade, 81, long-time Oak Harbor resident, died March 12, 2003 at her home.

Mrs. Reade was born Feb. 15, 1922 in Indiana, Pa. to Glenn Logan and Hilda (Kunkle) Logan. She moved with her family at an early age to Pontiac, Mich. She attended Pontiac schools and graduated from high school there. On Oct. 20, 1957, she married Raymond Reade at Kingsland, Ga. They lived in San Diego for a number of years before moving to Kettle Falls in 1968. The couple moved to Oak Harbor in June 1969. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Harbor. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Carrie is survived by two children, Glen W. Porter, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Everett and Sharon Patricia Bradley and husband Samuel of Marcus; three grandchildren, Jacob Lee, Jebediah and Chandra Stephenson; her brother, Glenn Logan of Plant City, Fla.; also, two nieces. She was preceded in death by her father on Dec. 7, 1982, and by her mother on Nov. 11, 1972.

Visitation will be Monday, March 17 from 9 a.m. until service time at Burley Funeral Chapel. The service will take place at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clint Webb officiating. A second service will be held at Kettle Falls Community Church Thursday, March 20, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tony Pinkham officiating. Interment will follow at Myers Falls Cemetery.
