Carroll S. Allen age 65, of Oak Harbor passed away at home on Aug. 22, 2004, following a short but courageous battle with cancer, her loving family and friends by her side. Carroll was born to Carman Harriet Barrett “Buddy” and Mary Eileen Cavanagh on July 19, 1939, in Hollywood, Calif.
She moved to Oak Harbor in 1995 to be near her sister Nancy E. Chapman of Oak Harbor for whom she had a deep affection. Carroll worked as the supervisor of housekeeping at the Coachman Inn in Oak Harbor.
She was respected and loved by her family, co-workers and management who lovingly referred to her as “Mama.”
Carroll joins her son John Reaves, father Buddy, mother Mary and grandson Joshua Cravens.
She is survived by her loving sons William Cravens and wife Vianney of Orangevale Calif., Jeff Cravens Sr. and wife Laurie of Marysville Calif., Tod P. Cravens of Fresno Calif., Sister Nancy E. Chapman of Oak Harbor; grandchildren Amber, Colleen, Garrett, Jeff Jr., Michael, Kristal, Nieces Leslie J. Morgan of Oak Harbor, Susan Johnson of Reno, Nev., Wendy McMaster of California and Nephew Buddy Barrett of California.
There will be a private family and friends celebration of Carroll’s life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, worked with her and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carroll’s name to the charity of your choice. Her family would like to thank Dr. Haigh Fox, Dr. Yang, The Coachman Inn, Whidbey General Hospital, COPES, Whidbey Island Hospice, EODMU-Eleven and everyone who supported her during her fight.
