Christie K. Mitchell Galvin departed this earth on New Year’s Eve, 2015, just short of her 65th birthday, after waging a heroic six-year battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Port Townsend to Mary and W.B. Mitch Mitchell who preceded her in death. She attended Oak Harbor schools and was a member of the class of 1969.

She is survived by her husband Howard in Eugene, Ore.; children, Matt, Stacy, Meagan and Shaun; brother James Mitchell; and sisters, Ellen Meyer and Marcy Gamble.

A well-attended celebration of life was held on April 17 at the Springfield Oregon Elks Culb. It is suggested that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or the Oregon Ki Society.
