Christine Linson Jewell, 87, died peacefully in her sleep March 27, 2009, at her home in Houma, La., as a result of heart problems. Services were held April 1 at Samart Funeral Home in Houma, followed by burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
She is survived by her second husband, Jesse Jewell of Maude, Texas; children, Stanley Linson and wife Evelyn, Howard Linson and wife Delma, Miriam Warner and husband Keith, Beth LeBlanc and husband Ray, Blanche Champagne and Helen Lorene O’Brian; and special friend, Rita Chaisson. She will also be extremely missed by granddaughters Miranda Gee and Domini Bennett, and closest great-grandchildren Gaige and Tyle Corbitt. She leave 16 grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas Linson; parents, Ora Myric Floyd and James Ellis Floyd of her hometown of Magee, Miss.; siblings, Clara Williams, Myrtle Shows, Hassel Fludy, Burra Floyd, Sam Floyd and Charles Floyd; children, Ellis Linson of Oak Harbor, and Elda Linson of Gretna, La.; and grandson, Larry Lucas, Jr., of La.
