Clifford J. Reindel

Cliff J. Reindel, 71, passed away Feb. 2, 2009, at Yuma Regional Medical Center, Yuma, Ariz., after a a couragious fight with lung cancer. His loving wife, Pat, was by his side. He was a resident of Coupeville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Anna Reindel, sisters, Emma, Ella Mae and Alice, brothers Vernon, Frank, John and Mike Reindel, and son Mark Reindel.

He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Pat; sisters, Helen Schueller of Roseau, Minn., and Hilda Stewart of Salem, Ore.; sister-in-laws, Arlene Reindel of North Dakota and Jean Reindel of Washington; sons, Michael (Karen) Lazar, Steve Lazar of Washington; daughters, Sharon (Denny) Doss of Kansas, Ronda (Phil) McCarty, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Brittany and Max Lazar of Washington, Carissa (Trey) of Oklahoma, Angela, Jayme Doss of Okla., Erin Boccher of Ohio, Jonathan and Melanie of Miss., and Shonda (Donald) Noble of Miss.; five great-grandchildren, Kelsie and Austin of Ohio, Lecy and Riley of Okla., and Kamrin of Miss.; and many nieces and nephews and numerous wonderful friends.

He enlisted in the Army when he was 17 and was stationed in Germany. After 2 years of service, he was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Seattle Plumbing and Pipefitters Local 32 for 35 years of service and also had served in the Boilermakers Union. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel of the Marine Base in Yuma, Ariz., and a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Oak Harbor.

He enjoyed winters with his wife and being “snowbirds” to the warm Arizona sunshine. He loved family picnics, camping, fishing, country music and being with family and friends. He enjoyed woodcarving and made many fine carvings and enjoyed making things for friends and family. Rosary held in Yuma. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 185 North Oak Harbor St., Oak Harbor, reception following.
