Dana Madison passed away on Dec. 1, 2018 at the age of 82. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Feb. 15, 1936. She was preceded death by her husband, G. Skip Downing; her mother, Ann Kaufman; father, William Kaufman; and sister, Renee Cohen.
She is survived by one brother, Norman Kaufman of Windham, N.H. Her nephews are Richard Kaufman, of Dover, N.H., Michael Saks, of Manhattan, N.Y., and Stephen Saks, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Nieces Melinda (Saks) Salmansohn, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Suzanne (Kaufman) Cipriano of Salem, N.H. also survive.
Dana worked on architecture blueprinting, custom home design and drafting projects with her husband, Skip. They designed Billy McHale’s, Red Robin and Best Western, to name a few. Dana specialized in food, beverage and hospitality. She had a flare for interior design, loved fast cars, exotic plants and kept busy in her greenhouse. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who cared for and loved her.
There will be a visitation 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at Wallin Funeral Home in Oak Harbor. A graveside service is 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec.13 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville.
