David Michael Barrett, 68, went peacefully to sleep after an amazing Thanksgiving celebration. He didn’t wake up the following morning, Friday, November 29,2024. He was welcomed by family and friends who preceded him in death. He will be sorely missed and remembered with love.

Dave lived with his brother/best friend Bruce in Tumwater, WA. Their relationship was enviable as they enjoyed so many of the same things, including all sports, movies and family functions.

Dave was born on March 4, 1956 in San Diego, CA to the late Franklin and Alicia Barrett. He grew up in Oak Harbor and graduated from High School in 1974. He excelled in sports(baseball, wrestling, and football) all 3 years in High School. He received the “Athlete of the Year” and was also Senior Class President. Dave was well liked by his peers. After graduation he accepted an ROTC scholarship and attended the University of Idaho and then the University of Washington where he wrestled his sophomore year.

In 1976 he married Kim Ritchie and they had two sons, Frank and Conor, who he loved very much. Dave was very skilled at everything “electronic” and had a successful career as a salesperson with many repeat customers over the years.

Dave is survived by his sons, Frank, and Conor(Lauren), brother Bruce, and sister Shannan(Mark), niece’s: Krissy(Andy), Erin(Ben), Danielle, Aimee(Sam), Brianne(Jon), Lauren(Evan)and honorary brother Carl Ratcliff.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Porter and Mary Frances Barrett and 5 great-nephews and 5 great-nieces, as well as cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on January 18, 2025 in Olympia, WA.
