Deanna Jean Fowler
Deanna Jean Fowler, 61, died Jan. 3, 2002 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born March 18, 1940 in Grand Rapids, Minn., the daughter of Elroy “Pete” Garrison and Lucille Ione Mishler Palmer.
Deanna was a resident of Mount Vernon for the past eight years. She formerly lived in Grand Junction, Col. and Whidbey Island following her husband’s discharge from the U.S. Navy. She was married to Donald W. Fowler on March 11, 1958 in Pemberton, N.J.
Deanna enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bird watching, tropical fish, and most of all caring for and being with her family. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of west Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her husband Donald of the family home in Mount Vernon; children Donald W. Fowler, Jr. of Mount Vernon, Tracy L. McAllister and her husband Marvin of Alger, Mark A. Fowler and his wife Janet of Everett, and Clay W. Fowler and wife Kelly of Grand Junction. Also surviving are seven grandsons; seven granddaughters; three brothers, Frank Palmer and wife Connie of Minneapolis, and Billy and Michael Palmer; and brother-in-law Donald Cole of Montanta. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judith Cole.
Memorial services were held Jan. 8 at the Bible Baptist Church in Mount Vernon with Pastor Geoff Miller officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements and cremation were under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
