Diane Takasugi passed away on Nov. 6, 2013 at her home in Coupeville. She was born on Feb. 2, 1954 in Logan, Utah to John and Taeko (Hayashi) Takasugi. She was the second of five children, and grew up on a family farm in Southwestern Idaho.
Diane graduated from Homedale High School and later attended the University of Chicago, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in the College of Biological Sciences, and an Master’s Degree in clinical nutrition. She also attended and received a high honors degree from the Culinary Institute of America.
She worked more than 30 years in the food service industry, and in her spare time enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, cooking and traveling. She was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Diane is survived by her mother Taeko; her sister Bonnie Takasugi and her husband Tom Stewart of Des Moines, Wash.; brother Douglas Takasugi and his wife Janda, of Wenatchee, Wash.; brother David Takasugi, of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and nieces Jordan Michelle and Taylor Mackenzie Takasugi. She was preceded in death by her father John, and brother Robert.
