Dolores Wetterauer Wilson

Dolores Wetterauer Wilson died July 9, 2004, in Everett. She was born on Aug. 31, 1923, in Montesano and raised in Raymond where she was one of the first female state tennis champions.

She was a past member of the Ladies of the Oriental Eastern Star. She liked to garden and do needlework. She had a gift for music and was a very talented organist. She loved to watch sports, except archery, and oh, how she loved her triple diamond slots. She was one of the original members of the SAGGERS and had a great talent for writing inspiring poetry.

She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Wetterauer in 1941; he preceded her in death in 1971.

She was very loved and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Karen Smarter, daughter-in-law, Elaine; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Her son Richard preceded her in death.

She met Pete Wilson, her very special love and best friend, in June 2002. They were married in Laughlin, Nev., Dec. 18, 2002. They wintered in Needles, Calif., where she loved to go to the casino while Pete golfed. What happiness, joy and many laughs they shared in their short time together.

She is survived by Pete’s two children; Jimi and Dick Gabelein; Mike and Donna Wilson, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

A memorial celebration for Dolores will be held at a later date.
