Dora Maud Godfrey Steadman, 83, passed away March 27, 2003, after an extended illness. Dora was born in Clarkston, Utah, Dec. 5, 1919, to Ezekiel Godfrey and Agnes Wheatley. She was one of seven children. Her only surviving brother, Jessie Godfrey and his wife Doreen, live in Clarkston.
She met and married her late husband, Dolar James (Jay) Steadman II in 1942. Dora is survived by six of their seven children: Ann Randal of Los Angeles; Clyde Steadman of Madison, N.C.; Connie Lehman of Oak Harbor; Fay Caldwell of Sacramento, Calif.; Leona Cardoza of Reno, Nev.; and Marilyn Steadman of Oak Harbor. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Dolar James Steadman III. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an active member and served many callings. She loved to read and listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She loved life and loved everyone. She lived in California for many years and moved to Oak Harbor in 1989; she moved back to California in 1992.
Services will be held in California and burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Concord, Calif. She was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
