Doris Lillian Cleveland Jones, 75, of Shelton, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton. Doris was born May 10, 1926, to Anson Edward and Lillian Georgia (Case) Cleveland in Everett.
Doris worked as a bookkeeper and dispatcher for a private home-owners association. She loved gardening, especially flowers. She enjoyed traveling around the state of Washington and finding new places. One of her favorite places was Palouse Falls. Doris also enjoyed knitting afghans. She was a member of Amarath Canal Lodge.
She is survived by her long time companion, Adolph Yesland of Shelton; two sons, Patrick Jones of Seattle and Michael Jones of Honolulu; three grandchildren, Andrew Jones of Redmond, Libby Mendez of Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and Jennifer Jones of Honolulu; one brother, Bob Cleveland of Shelton; and one niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Jones in 1976.
A funeral service was held Thursday, April 25 at Hope Chapel in Shelton. Burial took place Friday at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1201, Olympia 98507.
