Dorothy J. “Dottie” Jordan passed away on Aug. 6, 2013, following a long battle with cancer. She was born in Delta, Colo., on Dec. 10, 1927. She was a graduate of Delta High School. Dottie moved to Whidbey Island in 1964 and worked for Whidbey Island Naval Air Station as a payroll clerk from 1967 to 1976, when she retired.
Dottie was married to Bill Jordan in 1969. Following retirement, she and Bill traveled for a time and then she pursued her hobbies in oil and china painting and braille transcribing and, finally, in quilt making.
Dottie is survived by her husband, Bill, and by two sons, Arthur Gresham (Linda) and Keith Gresham (Kris), and by one sister and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
A memorial service for Dottie will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the San De Fuca Chapel, with Pastor Cliff Horr officiating.
