Dustin Lee Shuler, age 20, a resident of Oak Harbor, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Island Hospital in Anacortes.
Dustin was born on July 21, 1989, in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Larry and Barb Shuler. He moved to Oak Harbor four years ago.
He was a quarter-midget racer, racing in his car given to him by the Make-A-Wish Foundation; he also loved fishing, four-wheeling and working in the yard and garden. He worked at F-1 Sand and Gravel and Jet City Equipment.
Dustin is survived by his parents, Larry and Barb Shuler; his sisters, Heather Shuler and companion Elisha Clark and Raylyn Shuler; his grandpa, Norm Scott; four aunts, Lorraine “Red” Fritch and husband Ken, Karen Swanson and companion Bruce Engelgau, Debbie Showers and husband Robert and Betty Blouin; two uncles, Frank Scott and Steve Scott and wife Jackie; and numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousins, and his best friend Andrew.
Dustin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Mary Shuler, grandmother Betty Scott and brother Allen Shuler.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Pete, Carl and Mike and their families and Joe Franssen, as well as Steve Scott, Travis Meins and Dale Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Lemley Chapel, Sedro- Woolley. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington. A time of visitation will be available Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., before the service. Friends are invited to join the family in a potluck fellowship at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Club, 1000 Metcalf St. in Sedro-Woolley after the committal.
