Whidbey Island loses a neighbor: It is with great sadness to announce that the family of longtime Oak Harbor resident Elenore Ruth Moore (Pesky), a well-known quiltist and gardener, passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband, Frank, on July 24, 2018, at the age of 81 after a short battle with cancer.
Pesky was born in 1936 and raised in Longview, Texas. After attending college at TCU, she married her beloved husband Frank Moore. Their 60th wedding anniversary was just around the corner in early August. She will forever be remembered by her loving sons, Brian and Patrick, and her beloved grandchildren, Maggie, Christopher, Jason, Conner and Liam.
Pesky and Frank were also parents of Elaine, who passed away from breast cancer in 2010.
Pesky was well known for her artistic skills in sewing and creating her beautiful and stunning quilts.
Every year of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives she made intricate Halloween costumes, much to the joy and love of her family.
She was an avid golfer for many years and took joy in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Pesky touched the lives of many people over the years of a very full and happy life with her beautiful smile and her witty sense of humor. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Pesky to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
