Elizabeth Cabauatan â??Lisaâ?? Wagner

Elizabeth Cabauatan “Lisa” Wagner died suddenly at Island Hospital, Anacortes, on Sept. 13, 2008, at the age of 58. She was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Bayombong, Nueva Viscaya, Philippines to Fidel and Hilaria (Cabauatan) Ampat.

Lisa Wagner was raised in Bayombong. She was married to Robert Leroy Wagner on July 5, 1972, in the Philippines. Robert was assigned to the Naval Calibration Laboratory and they remained in the Philippines until 1976 when they were transferred to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. In 1979, they returned to the Philippines until Bob’s retirement in 1982.

Lisa and Bob moved to Adak, Alaska, where Bob worked for a defense contractor. From there, they traveled to Naples, Italy, returning to Oak Harbor in 1987.

Lisa was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and an active member of the church choir. She was a member of the Elizabeth Guild at church and also a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Fil-Am Association of Oak Harbor and the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking and gardening.

Lisa is survived by her sister Josefina “Fina” Ampat of Oak Harbor and her fiance Anecito “Al” Alcoy, also of Oak Harbor as well as seven brothers and sisters in Bayombong. Her husband Robert Wagner preceded her in death.

Visitation for Lisa Wagner will be held Thursday, Sept. 18. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, at 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church on Friday, Sept. 19, with Rev. Philip Raether as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Bayombong, the Philippines. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
