Elizabeth Schuemann

Elizabeth Montana (Miller) Schuemann, 82, formerly of Coupeville, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014.

She was born July 7, 1932, in Wolf Point, Mont., the only child of Harley and Rebecca Miller.

Elizabeth had a diverse life and was a woman of many talents. Her greatest passion was being a minister for 72 years as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She married George Schuemann and they remained together for 60 years until his death in 2013.

Remembered by her children as “the original health- food nut,” Elizabeth enjoyed vegetable gardening, raising farm animals, sewing and upholstery work.

She and her husband took her family on long cross-country trips each summer. The family also went on yearly camping expeditions, and Elizabeth later realized her dream of traveling to the Middle East.

A friendly, hospitable woman who always saw the best in others, she enjoyed the company of friends and family.

Elizabeth is survived by five children, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Renton Technical College.
