Elvira D. DiMario,40, of Oak Harbor, died at Whidbey General Hospital on June 28, 2005 following a brief illness.
Mrs. DiMario was born in Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines, on Feb. 10,1965. She came to Oak Harbor from Guam in 1990. She was employed by New Leaf, a nonprofit service organization, and she loved tending her rose garden. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic church.
She is survived by her daughter, Josephine Saroca and husband Richard of Hawaii; her son Joel “Jun-Jun” Garcia of Oak Harbor; her three grandchildren, Jolina, 4, Joanne, 3, and Juliann, 1, and one about to be born; a brother, Franciasco Garcia, and two sisters, Lolita Beiles and Anita Garcia, all of Manila, Philippines; her boyfriend, Joseph Scott Swift of Oak Harbor; also, her ex-husband Carl DiMario of Ledyard, Conn.
A Mass, celebrated by the Rev. Marc Powell, and a Rosary, were held at St. Augustine’s Church on July 1, following visitation. Memorials may be made to the Fil-Am Society. Burial will take place at a later date in the Philippines. Arrangements under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
