Fred Christenson, 96, a longtime resident of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at his home.

He was born to Charles and Carrie (DeWilde) Christenson Aug. 3, 1918, in Oak Harbor, Wash. Fred attended school in Oak Harbor.

Fred is survived by his wife, Lila, of the family home; niece, Karen (Doug) Radcliff, of Bayview, Wash.; and nephews, Eric and Roy Christenson.

At his request, there will be no service. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home.
