Gunther Jose Frank

Gunther Jose Frank, 35, of Bellingham, died June 5, 2009, in a boating accident in Bellingham Bay.

Gunther was born in Oak Harbor on May 12, 1974, to Herman and Rosa Maria (Ochoa) Frank. He graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1992. He received a BA degree from Western Washington University. Gunther was a world-class photographer, with his works appearing in several publications. He also excelled as a free-style bicyclist.

He was baptized at and attended St. Joseph of Cupertino Catholic Church. He leaves his parents, Herman and Rosa Frank of Oak Harbor; one brother, Wolfgang Frank (Jessica) of Marysville; one sister, Marisa Henley (Floyd) of Vancouver, Wash.; three nieces, Jade Marie and Alea Rose Henley and Georgia Kate Frank; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Two separate Memorial Masses will be held. The first will be Friday, July 24, at noon, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1110‚ 14th St., Bellingham, Rev. Qui-Thac Nguwen, Celebrant. The second will take place Saturday, July 25, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, with Rev. David Young, Celebrant. Memorial donations may be made to the Gunther Jose Frank Memorial Fund at any Bank of America branch.
