Ida May Hurley

Ida May (Walker) Hurley passed away Aug. 18 in Salem, Ore. She was born April 13, 1933. She grew up in a dairy farm in Clover Valley with her four sisters. She graduated from Oak Harbor High School with the class of 1951.

Ida May leaves behind her husband, Ken, of Salem, Ore.; two sons: Kenny Jr. of California and Terry of Oregon; four daughters: Donna, Martha, Becky, and Margaret Sue, all of Oregon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving Ida are her three sisters: Harriett of Oak Harbor, Phyllis of Smoky Point, and Grace of Westminster, Calif. She was preceded in death by her sister Juanita, and her parents Howard and Mabel Walker.

Ida was the granddaughter of Harry and Ida Ploegsma, who were Whidbey Island pioneers.

Remembrances will take place in Salem.
