Ilse passed away peacefully early Christmas morning, in her own home, with her children at her side.

She lived the last 12 years of her long and amazing life in Coupeville and considered herself very fortunate to live out her life in a community and landscape she loved. Ilse and her dog Jackie, a fluffy, and very sociable Pomeranian, who preferred being pushed around in a stroller to walking, made many friends on their daily walks to Front Street over the years.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, yet may we rejoice in her having led an extraordinary and long life, culminating in her final wish to die peacefully in her own home.
