Isabel Elizabeth (Rodriguez) Bryant was born Nov. 30, 1936, and passed-away Nov. 30, 2020. She was born in East Los Angeles, Calif., to Hortencia Alvarado and Robert Rodriguez. Her family and friends always called her as Liz.
She met her husband Jackson L. Bryant (deceased) while waiting for a bus to the Bay Area. They wrote letters back-and-forth for a while, fell in love and were married April 9, 1955. They traveled to many countries and had many great adventures that they shared with children and grandchildren. They loved taking their drives on Sundays. Their love for each other lasted 58 years. During those 58 years, not a day went by where they did not say “I love you.”
During their marriage they had eight children, 31 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren who loved her dearly and always called her “MeMe.” She was loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
She loved music and dancing. From Elvis Presley and The Commodores to Glenn Miller and Willie Nelson — if music was on in our home, she was dancing and singing.
She also loved her movies. She would have any one of her grandchildren over to watch Westerns or comedies, but she always loved monster movies. She had a great sense of humor and would have us laughing out loud on many occasions. Her family meant everything to her. She loved and protected her family and there is nothing she would not do for any of us. She was always the type of person who would give you her last dollar if you needed it.
She was the most selfless, kind, strong and giving person I have ever known. She will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.
We love you MeMe, rest in peace.
