James Douglas Russell, Jr., age 67, longtime Oak Harbor resident, passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital on Monday, July 7, 2014, after a lengthy illness.

Jim was born in Bremerton on Aug. 14, 1946, to James and Ruth (MacArthur) Russell. He graduated from Bremerton High School and entered the United States Air Force. He served his country for four years and was honorably discharged as a sergeant (E-4).

James has surviving family members in West Central Florida, including his sister, Marcia McGrow, nephew, Eric McGrow, and niece, Rachel McGrow.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Oak Harbor Southern Baptist Church with the Pastor Lemuel Villano officiating.

Military Honors will be under the auspices of the McChord Air Force Base Honor Guard.
