James Seabolt was born in Edmonton, Alberta. He emigrated with his wife Keren to the U.S. in 1965, where he lived 12 years in California before settling on Whidbey Island, Wash., in 1978.
In 1980, he and his wife founded Seabolt’s Smokehouse, which he ran as a family business until his retirement in 1996.
He was proud to serve his community as a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Island County Planning Commission and past president of the Oak Harbor Lions Club.
He will be loved and missed by his wife Keren, daughter Jamie and his five grandchildren, Lauren, Sierra, Ryan, Allison and Dawson. He was predeceased by his son Christian in 2009.
