Jane Souza, 87, died June 18, 2009, in Coupeville. She was born in Alameda, Calif., on August 22, 1922, to Mr. And Mrs. Delbert Erickson. She was raised in the Alameda area where she met and married her husband Wilbur.

In 1982 Jane and Wilbur moved to Whidbey Island to be near their family. Jane was an active member of Tops and Weight Watchers for many years. She also belonged to the Emblem Club and Good Sam Club. She enjoyed hand crafts, camping and, most of all, her family.

Jane is survived by her son Don Souza with wife Susan; grandsons Jeff Souza, Jeremy Souza, Robert Souza with wife Monique; granddaughter Michele Woodman, great grandsons Cody; andSouza and Steven Souza, along with many other extended family and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur and her son Wilbur, Jr.

The family will have an open house at the residence of Don and Suzi Souza on Saturday, June 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. to celebrate Jane’s life; family and friends are encouraged to join them at 485 Hazelwood Dr. in Oak Harbor.

The family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Jane’s name. Arrangements entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
