Janet Arlene Warren passed away one year ago from cancer, on April 13, 2013, surrounded by family at her home near Oak Harbor, Wash. Jan was born in Glenwood Springs, Colo., to Dorothy and Burt McKee.
Janet went to Mount Vernon High School.
In 1968, Janet moved to Alaska, living in Anchorage and Kenai.
She later lived in Loogootee, Ind., and finally, Oak Harbor, Wash.
Her jobs were in grocery stores and bookkeeping.
Her hobbies included reading, crochet, sewing and astrology.
Janet was a kind and free-spirited soul who made friends everywhere she lived.
Janet is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Dorothy and Noble Hall, of Mount Vernon, her son David Thomas, and two husbands, Wade Thomas and George Warren.
Janet is survived by her brothers, Charlie, Ed and Marvin; her sons, Rob and Don Thomas; George’s sons, Greg and Jim Warren; her granddaughters, Charice Shellahamer and Serenity Thomas; grandsons Dustin and Kyle Thomas, and Michael and George Warren; great-granddaughter Jaden Thomas; and great-grandsons Owen and Even Shellahamer.
Per her request, no services were held.
However, a celebration of her life will be held in July, time and place to be announced.
Jan never said “goodbye,” but always ended a visit with “love ya.”
