Jerald Thomas Pozzani, 88, of Pensacola Florida passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2024, at his home. He was born on November 13, 1936, in Rockford Illinois to Enrico (Andy) and Arlene (Carpenter) Pozzani.
He married his high school sweetheart Joanne Laura Piper (Koeller) on April 2, 1955, in Dubuque Iowa. Gerald (Jerry) joined the U.S. Army January 11, 1955, where he served his country until his retirement November 1, 1980. After his retirement he moved his family to Coupeville Washington, where he lived until his move to Pensacola Florida in 2018.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life, as well as being a big fan of football, basketball, soccer golf and horse racing. He also enjoyed traveling. Around 2000 he began an annual walk-about starting in California, then heading to Colorado to visit his best friend, Luke of over 65 years. On to Virginia to visit his daughter Laura and family, then to New York to visit a nephew, Wisconsin next to visit brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, last but not least to Minnesota to visit his daughter Toni and family and finally home again.
After moving to Florida, he joined the Lillian Community Club where he spent many happy hours playing poker and visiting with new friends.
He is survived by his daughters Laura (Michael) Magalski, Lisa Pozzani, and Toni (John) Timm. Grandchildren Heather Magalski, Shannon (Aaron) Sauter, Andrew (Brittany) Magalski, Ryan (Faith) Marti, Jake Mindrup, and Shelby (Cord) Wieghat. Great Grandchildren Reagan and Leah Lichtenfels, Sailor Sauter, Sebastian and Atlas Magalski, Kaleb, Kinzlee and Ashton Marti.
He is predeceased by his wife Joanne (2012), brothers James (2011) Jack (2013), sister Maureen, and his parents Arlene (1947) and Andy (1980). He was cremated and laid to rest at Barracas National Cemetery, Pensacola Florida on January 24, 2025.
