John Moyer, 91, AQCS Retired, longtime (54 years) Oak Harbor resident died peacefully on April 30, 2011.

Born on April 5, 1920 and raised in Couderay, Wisc., John set out on his great adventure right after high school. He worked in the aeronautic and logging industries prior to his 30-year naval carrier.

He was predeceased by both parents, his first wife, infant son, five sisters, one stepson, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; daughters Becky (Moyer) Spraitzar and Laurel (Moyer) Fagan; stepson Clay Beagle (Diana); five grandchildren and their spouses; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for John will be held Monday, May 9, at 1 p.m. at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel where friends may go online at www.burleyfuneralchapel.com to sign a guest register and leave messages for the family.
