John ‘Jay’ Skylar Johnson

The world lost the coolest kid on earth on Nov. 13, 2015, and I am proud to say that cool kid was my grandson. John “Jay” Skylar Johnson was born Sept. 1, 1998 in Beaver, Pa., to John Nicholas Johnson and Candice Zuback. Jay will be best remembered for his quick wit, his compassion for life and a love for his family and friends. Jay had a way with words; he could uplift anyone around him with his compassionate words and empathy for others. He had a passion for his music, which he loved to share with others.

Jay is survived by his sister Kaya Lincoln, parents, grandparents, great-grandmother and many uncles, aunts, cousins and endless friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfathers and cousin Billy. We will miss his sunny smile and bright laughter.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Elks Lodge in Oak Harbor.

A Go-Fund-Me account to assist the family with expenses is set up in the name of Vivid Change, which was Jay’s Facebook page. Jay’s favorite saying was “If I shine, we all shine.” I ask you all to do that in his name and please attend the celebration of life. Jay would want it that way. Arrangements were entrusted to Wallin Funeral Home. Please visit John’s Book of Memories page online at www.wallinfuneralhome.com to share memories and condolences.
