Kathleen Ann Bowen of Anacortes, WA passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 7:58 pm at the age of 82. She was born on August 27, 1941 in Canton, OH where she grew up as the oldest of four children.

She graduated from Wooster College in 1963 and received a Master’s Degree from Cornell University in 1964. Kathleen worked as a teacher. She substituted until she was 80 years old, because she loved teaching. Kathleen loved children and she loved giving encouragement to others.

Kathleen had many friends who loved her for her compassion, integrity, zest for life and her love of family. Kathleen is survived by her spouse, Richard G. Bowen; her daughter, Juli Bowen and son-in-law Jim Tolton and their two children; and daughter, Lauri Bowen and her three children.

The family would like to thank the Whatcom Hospice House for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days. The staff at the Whatcom Hospice House worked very hard to make Kathleen comfortable throughout her stay.
