Keith Malcom Allen
April 20, 1936 — June 7, 2016
Keith was born in Port Huron, Mich., to Charlotte Allen (Seavy) (deceased) and William D. Allen (deceased). Keith was father to William D. Allen (deceased), Naioa Li Allen (Brown) and Pearl Lynn Allen; and brother to Dean William Allen (deceased).
As a young man, Keith left Michigan and worked at odd jobs up and down the East Coast. He enlisted in the United States Navy and completed 20 years of service, attaining the rank of chief petty officer while working at many different and exciting jobs, including air crewman on blimps in the Florida Keys and maintenance technician on F-4 Phantoms with the Blue Angels.
Keith’s last tour of duty brought him to instructor duty at NAMTRADET NAS Whidbey Island, and upon his retirement he founded and ran the NAS Whidbey Island Flying Club, growing it to a large and successful operation that was instrumental in bringing many young people into the world of aviation.
After leaving the Flying Club, Keith went on to found his own business: Chuckanut Aviation Center at the Skagit Regional Airport.
Keith touched the lives of many in and out of the aviation community.
Keith was a modest and humble man, requesting no service or fanfare.
Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in his name may do so to the PBY Naval Air Museum in Oak Harbor, 270 S E Pioneer Way Oak Harbor WA 98277.
A great friend, Mason, and consummate aviation professional, you will be missed.
