Kevin Patrick Faris, Sr., age 64, of Ellijay, Ga., passed away after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Kevin was born at Polly Harpole’s Maternity Home on May 31, 1955, in Coupeville, Wash., to Emerson and Kathleen (Clark) Faris. He graduated from Coupeville High School in 1973 and attended Kent State University.
Kevin served 28 years in the United States Navy and retired in 2000 as a chief petty officer. He then completed 10 years in Civil Service, retiring as a GS-12 for a second time in 2012. He settled in Ellijay, Ga.
Along the way, Kevin made many friends and touched the lives of all he met. He will be remembered for his selflessness and love of family.
He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth Irene Tiegen; two sons, Kevin P. Faris, Jr., of Mukilteo Wash., and Justin Faris, currently deployed in the Navy; two daughters, Haily Clemans, of Snohomish, Wash., and Asheley Faris, of Athens, Ga.; stepdaughter, Kayleigh Dean; stepsons, Peter and Patrick Weiss; sister, Kathleen Faye (Faris) Diemert, of Anacortes, Wash.; brothers, Jim E. Faris, of Grandville, Texas, and Foster Faris and Emerson Faris, of Anacortes; one aunt, Dorothy Keefe, of Coupeville; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside service is noon Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, Wash.
