Kim Elizabeth Hebert, 44, died at Whidbey General Hospital, Coupeville, on Oct. 12, 2008 following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born Jan. 5, 1964 in Morgan City, La., to Iven and Ruby (Verrett) St. Germain.
Kim was raised in Morgan City and graduated from Morgan City High School. Following graduation, Kim worked for her sister as a secretary in a restaurant. Kim was married to Gregory A. Hebert on Nov. 20, 1982 in Bayou Vista, La.
Greg enlisted in the U.S. Navy and Kim became a Navy wife. Son Justin was born in Louisiana. As the Navy transferred the Hebert family to Florida, daughters Julia and Jennifer were born. The family travels continued on to Virginia, Sicily and finally to Washington and NAS Whidbey Island, living in Oak Harbor.
Kim enjoyed reading, crocheting and most of all, being a wife and mother. Her family was the most important part of her life.
Kim is survived by her husband Greg and twin daughters Julia and Jennifer, all at the family home and by her son Justin, also of Oak Harbor. Her father Iven St. Germain of Stephensville, La., one brother Kent St. Germain and two sisters, Karen St. Germain and Kelly Alcenia , all of Morgan City, La., also survive. Her mother preceded her in death.
Memorial services for Kim Hebert will be held Sunday, Oct. 19 at her father’s home in Stephensville, La. Cremation was held with private family inurnment to follow at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
